Megan’s Chocolate Cake Recipe
Megan’s Chocolate Cake is a light and moist cake which can be used for base cake to lots of great dessert. Our cake is frosted with Russian Chocolate Buttercream
Megan’s Chocolate Cake
A great no fail cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp espresso powder
- 1 cup buttermilk almond or coconut milk
- ½ cup veggie oil ,canola or melted coconut oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 C. Prepare two 9 inch cake pans , make sure lined with baking paper
- Add flour, sugar, cocoa ,baking powder, baking soda, salt and espresso powder to a large bowl. Whisk together then add liquids. milk , eggs and mix well.
- Add hot water to cake batter until well combined.
- Distribute cake batter evenly between the 2 prepared cake pans. bake for 30 -35 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Notes
Can be frozen once cooled for up to 2 months
