Antique 1920s carved celluloid handbag purse frame.
Oriental theme with elephants and Buddha. Two rings attach to two elephants where the strap handles holds the cloth purse.
The celluloid has an aged / yellowed look to it an is possibly made to imitate ivory. Press down the Buddha head and the clasp opens. Shuts closed nice and securely despite the two parts of the frame having a very small gap when closed.
In very good antique condition.
Very collectable and sought after.
