Description
The Cube teapot by George Clews of Tunstall, marked on the bottom.
1920-1939
With no spout or projecting handle, the cube teapot looked exactly as it sounds – a cube.
The main purpose of the cube teapot was to be used on a ship. The shape was stable and it would not roll when the ship rocked from side to side.
