Enriched Bread Dough

A sweet bread dough that is the base of lots of great breads. It is easy as it does not require any kneading and can be mixed in 1 bowl.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 170 grams butter

Instructions
 

  • Warm milk in microwave- it should be lukewarm. Too hot or it could kill the yeast.
  • Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl of the stand mixer. Mix the warm milk in the dry ingredients then the eggs and mix till combined. Now drop tablespoons of softened butter in one at a time until well blended.
  • Cover the dough and let the dough rise for 2 hours. It is a sticky dough so use lots of flour to create your desired shapes.
  • Now you have a base for lots of great breads like apple cinnamon bread.
